Tour de France Femmes Passes Through Lorraine on Thursday

The Tour de Femmes will be very close to Saarland on Thursday, with the finish line of the fifth stage in Amnéville. This presents a great opportunity for enthusiasts to watch the race live. However, interested spectators should plan their visit in advance as several roads and parking spaces around the event will be closed.

The Tour de Femmes began on Monday, marking the first time the race did not start in France but in the Netherlands. The competition will continue until Sunday as the cyclists strive for victory. Residents of Saarland who want to experience the spectacle live can do so best on Thursday when the professionals will be nearby, ending the fifth stage in Amnéville.

Plan Your Journey – Roads and Parking Spaces Will Be Closed

Before reaching Amnéville, the riders will cover approximately 150 kilometers from Bastogne in Belgium to the town north of Metz. This flat stage does feature some short, steep climbs. Amnéville is only about an hour away from Saarbrücken. Cycling fans should plan their trip in advance as drivers can expect traffic disruptions along the route. This was announced by the prefecture in Metz beforehand. Some roads and parking spaces are already closed today. The affected areas include Amnéville, Rombas, Rémiremont, Hagondange, and other towns. Additionally, the prefecture advises spectators to stay off the road and keep pets on a leash.

Defending Champion Vollering is the Top Favorite

This year marks the third edition of the renewed Tour de France for women. The top favorite is defending champion Demi Vollering from the Netherlands. Among the German hopefuls is Liane Lippert, who celebrated a stage victory last year and has already succeeded at the Giro d’Italia Donne this year.
